Esteemed colleagues:

The Environment Agency, together with other entities from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba, is pleased to invite you to the 8th International Convention on Environment and Development, which will be held from July 4th to 8th, 2011, at the Havana International Conference Center, with the slogan “For the respect and rights of our Earth”. The event is addressed to researchers, educators, specialists, managers, entrepreneurs and all professionals around the world, whose work is devoted to the sustainability of our planet.

This transcendental conference will provide a fluid and comprehensive exchange of ideas and criteria about methodological, theoretical and practical aspects related to the environment and sustainable development, in order to find better options to face and solve the problems involved in this wide field of study, which is more recurrent and necessary every day.
The Convention is the most important international meeting on environment held in Cuba. Its 8th edition includes 5 congresses and 3 colloquia, which are related to various topical environmental subjects: climatic change, environmental education, protected areas, ecosystem management and biodiversity, environmental right, environmental land planning, as well as hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment.
Several master conferences will be imparted by renowned experts of great prestige in the international arena. There will also be round table discussions on prime topics of the environmental agenda. Moreover, a fair-related exhibition on environmental experiences, technologies and projects will be carried out, as it has become customary in previous years.
